OK Go

OK Go's music videos are always creatively choreographed. From dancing on treadmills in "Here We Go Again" to a synchronized marching band in "This Too Shall Pass," OK Go reminds me of a nerdy boy band with a awesomely bad choreographer.

This time in OK Go's latest music video, "Needing/Getting," they use a car, a new Chevrolet to be exact, to create their music. Of course timing is a key element in the video, representing the signature style of OK Go.

Will Govus

Photographer Will Govus makes me want to explore the outdoors and leave the city with some close friends for a day of adventuring. Here are a few of my favorite photos below.

Steve Veilleux

Photographer Steve Veilleux captures winter beautifully. His minimal photographs are calming and quiet. Here are a few of my favorite images.

The Bark Side

I love dogs and I love when their "barks" are composed to make a song or jingle. During Christmas, my Mom often imitates the dog barking Christmas song (we are a family that loves dogs).

So it is not surprising that I think Volkswagon's new commercial for the Super Bowl is awesome. Check out the teaser video below.

Stop Online Piracy Act

I am blacking out all of my websites tomorrow. If you have any type of website (Blogger, Tumblr, Wordpress or personal website) please redirect your pages to a stop SOPA website.

Black out your website for 12 hours with this page's HTML, or by putting this Javascript into your site's theme.

It is really simple and easy.

If you have a tumblr you just copy the html (right click the page and click view page source) and paste in your tumblr theme. Make sure you save your original tumblr html theme in a text edit file so you can re-paste it afterwards :)

Visit SopaStrike.com for more instructions if you have trouble.

If you do not know what SOPA is then please watch this video. Tomorrow will be the largest internet blackout in history with major websites such as Google, Wikipedia, Reddit and many more participating. This will effect YOU!

Hietsuki Bushi

"Omodaka is a Japanese collective that’s been celebrating the creative process of trial and error since 2001. The group melds Soichi Terada‘s 8-bit compositions with Kanazawa Akiko’s soft, screeching vocals, but they also showcase a variety of visual artists in their collaborative music video projects. Terada’s fusion of rampant electronic sounds and samples teleport you between random genres, while Akiko’s traditional Japanese folk vocals paired with offbeat motion graphics form imaginative musical montages."

My favorite video is below. "Hietsuki Bushi" by Omodaka with animation and direction of Ryo Hirano.

Mattias Inks

I have been a fan of Mattias Dolfsson's drawings for a while now. Mattias meticulously draws imaginary structures made of interweaving wires and gadgets. The detail is pretty incredible, but I find his characters the most enjoyable.

Take a look at Mattias' blog!

A Restless Transplant

After taking a road trip from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles this past summer, I have been dreaming about going on another trip ever since. For those who don't mind driving or being on the road, I recommend that you take at least one road trip in your life. (For those who have trouble staying in the car, I still recommend taking a road trip. You can make many stops and you won't regret it.) Until the next time you or I can take a road trip, take a look at A Restless Transplant.

Foster Huntington left his graphic design job in New York to journey out West in a VW van. (Don't you wish you could do the same?) Here are a few of his latest photos from Los Angeles to Washougal, Washington.

Yayoi Kusama

Clever and playful installation by Yayoi Kusama for Queensland Gallery of Modern Art. For over a course of two weeks, children were given thousands of colored dot stickers to place in/on the room's surfaces. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.

Back.

My last post was over a year ago. I abandoned blogspot for tumblr, but I realized tumblr lacks the personal and curatorial aspect of blogger that I loved so much. So here we go again. Hope I can inform and showcase great art, design, music and inspiration for you.
