Christian Boltanski
French artist Christian Boltanksi does an extensive and massive installation piece, "No Man's Land", at the New York Park's Avenue Armory.
All centred around a five-story crane it explores the notion of mortality by incorporating 30 tonnes of discarded clothing, more than 3000 used cookie tins, and the sound of human heartbeats gathered from around the world.
The metal crane randomly drops down to grab clothing pieces at random intervals; reminiscent of those notorious arcade games where you avoid dropping a much sought after prize.
