Where are you from?

How would you describe what you do/your occupation?

Mechanic for my dad’s business. This is the first time I’ve had my picture taken.

When did you discover you wanted to do this?

Well, I always helped my dad at work, since I was a kid. I thought it would be fun to have my picture taken.

What are your ambitions?

I’d love to own my own car shop, I have a bunch of my own ‘muscle’ cars. Maybe if I take some more pictures I can afford it.

What is your relationship to Lady Gaga?

I met her at a shoot Nick Knight was doing. She’s fuckin beautiful, and funny, and interesting. I was a little nervous for Nick to start shooting. She said, “Don’t be baby, you were “born this way.” I took her out after. The rest is private ;)

"CH:What is the concept and how did it come about?

Marco Brambilla: To me “Power” was about a symbol, an icon of power about to fall, like an emperor about to fall. That’s when I thought I’d like to do a sort of moving portrait, a video portrait of Kanye as an authority figure in a moment when everything is about to collapse. I wanted to make it really sensual and use a lot of baroque imagery that I had used in “Civilization” and create this kind of decadent imagery around him and have all the decadence and sexuality and excess conspire against him. By the end of the video there’s a change in his position. So his position is compromised at the end of the video."

Colin Munroe

Colin Munroe is most known for his extensive list of collaborations in hip-hop (Kanye West, Drake, 88 Keys, Slum Village...just to name a few) , but I think more people should know about Munroe's solo work. Colin Munroe's EP and Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero (2008) are his only album/mixtapes. His first album, Don't Think Less of Me, is supposed to be released later this year, and I am highly anticipating this album to be as good as his earlier work.
